Best players of New Zealand NBL round 17

Australian Daniel Grida (195-G/F-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Hawkes Bay Hawks and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 26-year old swingman had a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Rams (#1, 11-2) 105-101. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Hawks maintains the 4th position in New Zealand NBL. Hawks is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 8th lost game this season out of 17 games. In the team's last game Grida had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Hawks, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Grida has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.8ppg. Grida is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 67.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Keylan Boone (203-F-2000, agency: Interperformances) of Southland Sharks. Boone impressed basketball fans with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Sharks was edged by the higher-ranked Jets (#3, 10-5) 91-88. Sharks is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Boone is one of the most experienced players at Sharks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.9ppg (#5). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Sharks' star - American Josiah Allick (203-F-2001). Allick scored 24 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was another key player of Southland Sharks, helping his team with a 87-82 win against the higher-ranked Airs (#5, 8-5). The chances of Sharks ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Allick could help Sharks to bring them higher in the standings. Allick has a great season in New Zealand. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (3rd best).

10. Jaylen Sebree (201-F-1997) of Nuggets - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
